An old business adage says to never waste an opportunity. Never forget, that.

When it's clear that the American Dream means getting in on the next get-rich-quick scheme, adopting faux rugged individualism/willfully ignorant political and social stances to serve your own interests and filling our McMansions with tons of cheap goods made by slave labor in China, I feel it's about time to look into some business ventures, provided they are all about me. Self-promotion has become our religion, and I want to make some money at it.
How much do you think I can get from Facebook if I agree to tattoo their logo on my forehead? Or having a kid and naming him/her Staples(™)? Or maybe I can get a piece of the pie by brokering a deal with a bank on behalf of my local school, where they've been forced to cut programs because of forced austerity measures, to convince them to say, change the name from "Longwood High School" to "Citibank presents: Longwood High School"?
After all, everyone's for sale. At the right price.
So do your duty today, just like our corporate brethren (enshrined by the Supreme Court and Mitt Romney as "people too.") have done on Twitter today. As long as we keep consuming everything will be just fine in our American Dream reality series.
And the world turns: The conniving criminal bankers (or savvy businessmen, according to our President) of Wall St have looted us blind, yet have not seen a day in jail and continue their international plunder, while political inertia bound in lobbyist money and future consulting jobs in the revolving door of the United States Government renders the population feudal captives in a Big Money game of monopoly.
Institutional racism and the prison industrial complex keeps otherwise budding revolutionists in the black and brown minority class from joining hands with their poor white working class and the increasingly submerged middle class compatriots to stand down this utterly corrupt system of tax breaks for the rich, bloated military budgets, healthcare run by private insurance companies, staggering higher education debt to banks and loss of civil liberties under the guise of homeland security.
