Rand Paul might not be literally plagiarizing Mitt Romney's words—he generally
leaves plagiarizing to his ghostwriters—but he is doing a mighty fine impression of Mitt's willingness to say whatever he thinks is most politically expedient instead of what he actually believes.
Just watch the video at the top of this post showing Rand Paul debating himself, or check out this article from The Washington Post that itemizes Rand's many flip-flops, including this from June:
Many of those clamoring for military action now are the same people who made every false assumption imaginable about the cost, challenge and purpose of the Iraq war. They have been so wrong for so long. Why should we listen to them again?
Good point, Rand. But today
he says:
If I had been in President Obama's shoes, I would have acted more decisively and strongly against ISIS. Some pundits are surprised that I support destroying the Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) militarily.
Huzzah, Rand! You're both against military action and convinced that you would have taken military action that would have settled this issue long ago. How very ... Romney of you.
