well OK, where were we? Last month, if you recall it was all about finishing the siding on the west side of the house
Lost most of August due to my son and his family coming for almost 2 weeks. So what happened is a Chilean friend/relative came up to help me with some of my projects. So this last 10 days we've been fixing and painting the upper clerestory window area. This is the highest part of the house and the most difficult to get to, I had no hope of doing this by myself, so Nico came up. in the picture you see him sitting on the scaffold, which I made and set myself.
here he is on the scaffold as it became---a false floor I could put a ladder on. Notice the shitty condition of that barge rafter---we took it off and replaced it anew. It's 35' long, three pieces of 2x12 cedar, screwed. All the windows were recaulked, everything redone
Looking the other way
of course there was some Incredibly Stupid to fix. the other end was just like this too.
So here's what it looks like now. Tomorrow we move to the east wall which is on the right side, starting on the top and working down. What was really cool was when we took down th TV dish and put it up again on the new barge rafter it worked fine.
Always take the time to admire your own work, pat yourself on the back, telling yourself how wonderful you are. you may be the only one doing this.
So thats what I'm working on, what are you working on?
