I heard the Executive Director of the City of Milwaukee Election Commission state this morning that they were projecting a turnout of at least 80% this November. As of the August Primary there were 317,781 registered voters in the city of Milwaukee. Eighty percent would be approximately 254,000 voters. In the 2012 Presidential election the city voted 79-20 for Obama. In the 2012 recall the city voted 77-23 for Barrett. If you use the 77-23 split Burke would get 195,580 votes while Walker would get 58,420 votes. This would net Burke 137,160 votes from the city. This explains why R's are so intent on shortening early voting and making sure ID is in effect. Let's hope projection is even close to being right. I hope we all keep vigilant in getting people to register and help them get their ID's. Take care.
