Will Scott Brown play the Trump card?
We've already seen Donald Trump
endorsing Mitch McConnell for Speaker of the House because he says a McConnell speakership will be good for Kentucky, but if you live in New Hampshire, America's Favorite Birther has got some advice for you too. And if you don't want to hear it, you had better get ready to hang up your phone,
because it's coming by robocall:
[Donald] Trump told Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” on Monday he might be making house calls this election cycle for Republicans such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and former Sen. Scott Brown, who’s running in New Hampshire.
According to Politico, Trump says GOP politicians frequently ask him to "do a robo" for their campaigns because he's pretty much the greatest robocaller in the history of the world thanks to his "very unblemished" record and the "fact" that his robocalls are "listened to more than anybody else's."
Given Trump's utter mastery and domination of the art of robocallery, it's no surprise that (according to Trump), former Massachusetts Senator and current New Hampshire Senate candidate Scott Brown is "coming up to see me" in New York to ask Trump to make automated calls in the Granite State.
So, what will it mean for the campaign if Trump decides to throw his recorded voice behind Brown? Well, as Politico notes, the biggest candidate Trump has done robocalling for is none other than Mitt Romney, which obviously means that if Trump steps in on Brown's behalf, it could turn the campaign upside down. In fact, at this very moment, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is probably quaking in her shoes, because when Donald Trump gets behind former Massachusetts politicians and makes robocalls on their behalf, the Earth moves and opponents wail.
Not surprisingly, reports Politico, Brown's office "did not immediately respond for comment."
