Just one day before tomorrow's hearing, which is key step in process Republicans are trying to stall 'til after November 4:
This new independent music video parody cover of “Hit the Road, Jack” (edited by Dkos's own Vyan) calls out the players' delays with rare combination of tough questions and catchy music. You gotta love the questions it poses to ex-Governor and current Republican Senate nominee Mike Rounds:
• What'd you know?
• Why so slow?
• Save your soul!
• If you’re clean, telling all should be your only goal.
Blue America comments on its video, the scandal and the candidates in
this blogpost and and links to it in
this tweet.
Mike Rounds' previous responses to scandal criticisms have been quick but thin, most recently in this ad complaining about “negative” campaigning.
As another Winter, war and election loom in this economically struggling state, is there so much to be negative about, especially Republican [link] scandal [link] stonewalling [link], which the independent music video highlights in fun and easily digestible form with emphasis on the lack of testimony from Republican candidate Mike Rounds, and his former employee-outside-contractor, Joop Bollen, who is believed to have routed more than 100 million dollars
offshore
...which hopefully is a word that more South Dakotans will be familiarized with from this video.
Blue America has put its money on South Dakotans being ready for homestretch intensity, both in the scandal investigation and the election. Can you put a little money on this horse race? This linked page enables contributions to Rick Weiland's campaign, to other Blue American-endorsed Senate candidates, and to the PAC that released the video.
Democratic nominee Rick Weiland has done his part so far, by:
• early-on visiting every town in South Dakota, then starting to revisit them;
• getting the musical ball rolling by singing about his visits and his policies;
• releasing his own amusing video parody (here) of the Republicans' scandal.
Whether or not you can contribute money, please help today's music video go viral for any or all of these reasons:
• you like Rick Weiland's policies or personality,
• you like having a Democratic Senate,
• you like Ray Charles's music.
-- or you just dislike Mike Rounds, or frauds, or cover-ups.
