The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports today that Pennsylvania's Attorney General Kathleen Kane's office has identified eight former employees whose agency email accounts " included images ranging from photographs of nude women to graphic videos of sexual acts. The emails were sent between 2008 and 2012, a period that included the end of Mr. Corbett’s tenure as attorney general."
The eight men named by Ms. Kane’s office are only some of the employees whose agency email accounts contained such images. The accounts of 30 current employees were found to as well, said agency spokeswoman Renee Martin. The office said in a written statement that it was not revealing their names because of human resource policies and union agreements.
Reporters were not shown the actual e-mails but did see a PowerPoint presentation of some of the images and videos found in the files.
Graphic videos were found in the accounts of Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Christopher Abruzzo, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan, former Secretary of Legislative Affairs Christopher Carusone, state Board of Probation and Parole member Randy Feathers and former environmental prosecutor Glenn Parno.
No such files were found in the e-mail for now governor (and soon to be ex-governor) Tom Corbett. The Kane findings were part of a AG investigation into the state's handling of the investigation into the Jerry Sandusky child abuse case at Penn State. At the time, Gov. Corbett was the state's attorney general.
Corbett is currently trailing badly in polling of his campaign to win re-election against Democrat Tom Wolf. This news is not likely to aid his efforts.
