Pew Research occasionally conducts a “news IQ quiz” to determine what differing demographic groups know about news and current events.

On the latest quiz of twelve questions, Pew scored me in the 97% percentile overall. (I guess that is just shy of qualifying for Mensa, if the news was what Mensa tested members about.)
The questions are not partisan political questions; they are about national and world events. More below the burning orange flames of the newspapers. . . .

After taking the quiz, Pew gives results per question. It scores age groups, genders, and education levels against each question.
For my education level (high school or less), the highest percentage on any question my group got right was 53%. For men, it was 70%. For my age group (50+) it was 71%.
(Too bad they didn't rate FOX News Channel viewers. That would have been worth reading about.)
If you dare, take a whack at the quiz and report back.
(Fortunately for y'all, my wife and I are off to Arkansas right after the Village Board meeting here Monday Night. We will be attending a convention at the Doubletree Hotel, the hotel cost being our entertainment budget for the next decade or so.)
