Happy Monday evraybody! How was your weekend?
Saturday being Yom Kippur and also hot as blazes, I spent the day in holiday services and napping. Sunday though, Sunday it cooled off just enough to make the meadows in Golden Gate Park bearable for tens of thousands of music lovers, and boy howdy Hardly Strictly delivered. I missed some faves earlier in the weekend but my one day there was just perfect. From Hot Rize featuring Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers, to Jerry Douglas and the Earls of Leicester, to Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, to Roseanne Cash, to Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, to the (surprisingly to me) delightfully hard rocking Dwight Yoakum and his spiffy band, we were just bathed in the good stuff. And there were four other stages to choose from, with so many great musicians and such a variety it was so hard to choose. I stuck with the old timey stuff this year. Coming back to back with Yom Kippur it felt pretty damn holy!
I missed Craigyferg Friday night, did you? Catch up here:
Tonight Craig's guests will be actor Daniel Radcliffe and comedienne Cathy Ladman (rerun from August 8).
