Do you believe that we are supporting veterans when they return from active duty?
Do you believe that we have the resources in place that can help them acclimate to civilian life?
Do you believe that they get the medical care that they need?
Do you believe that they are getting the mental health care that they need?
Do you believe that they are finding the jobs that they need?
If you said “yes” to anyone of these things than that is based on your OPINION and BELIEF…..
Not on FACTS.
Here are the facts:
In 2012, the Congressional Research Service noted that post-9/11 veteran rates of unemployment have run above both the national and overall veteran rates for the past four years.
Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have reported a perceived bias against their hiring because of employer fears around their emotional stability.- FORBES
Prescriptions for four opiates – hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and morphine – have surged by 270 percent in the past 12 years, according to data CIR obtained through the Freedom of Information Act - CIR
40% of the homeless population are veterans. That’s 700,000 veterans- StatisticBrain
More than 3,000 female veterans are living on the streets of the United States.
The veteran unemployment rate in August of 2014 was 8.1 percent while the general unemployment rate was 6.1 percent.
Is this acceptable? Do you think that we owe veterans more?
If this is acceptable to you vote for my opponent, Rep, Richard Nugent.
If you are undecided, look at his Congressional voting record. Nugent has voted to reduce many of the benefits and programs that veterans rely on. That is FACT.
If you want a representative in Washington who cares about veterans, understands their needs and has made his life work helping disabled citizens, then vote for me, Dave Koller.
Ask me what I want to do for the veterans when I get to Congress.
