If there's one type of diary or comment that most irks me, aside from the inevitable trolls, it is probably the Inevitable Doomsday Scenario. Because Barack Obama; or the NSA; or GMOs; or, lately, ebola. What bothers me most about them is not the delineation of what's wrong, or how we got there, or even the lack of any attempt to suggest a positive solution (or that there could be one), but the slightly hysterical sense of glee that underlies them:
See? I told you things were bad, and you didn't believe me, and now we're all screwed, and I win.
