For the past week, 113th Assembly District candidate Carrie Woerner (D - Malta) has been airing television commercials in the Albany, New York media market and on cable systems in Saratoga and Washington Counties, highlighting her decades of experience working in the technology industry, a stark contrast to her opponent who has mainly spent his entire adult life working as a lobbyist-political operative in Washington D.C.
So far, it appears that Woerner's pragmatic centrism and message of growing technology industry is resonating well with voters in the 113th Assembly District, which contains most of Upstate New York's Upper Hudson Valley region, and is home to the GlobalFoundries chip fabrication plant, the largest nanotech facility on the continental globe. Two years ago, Woerner came less than six points from defeating a long-term, entrenched Republican opponent, and now this year it increasingly appears as though she may be the first Democrat to represent our region in the Assembly in about 150 years.
You can help out Carrie Woerner now by either volunteering or donating to her campaign. Carrie currently maintains two district campaign offices for phone banking and canvassing activities; the Saratoga County office is located at 70 Beekman Street in Saratoga Springs, while the Washington County office is located at 151 Broadway in Fort Edward.
