Deforestation: destruction of rain forest's natural protection
This scattered Diary is not really about Ebola. It's about destruction, and the party that shills for the corporations allowing them to destroy natures natural barriers that protect the land and we the people who live on this land.
Our Rain Forests, marshlands and most any other part of nature that stands in the way of those extraction industries are being systematically destroyed. It's goes way beyond what some have called overharvesting. It's pure exploitation in order to secure ever increasing profits aided and abetted by a cabal of powned corporate sycophants - the GOP
Today The GOP is cashing in on fear. Manipulating those fears into a commodity to be sold by an all too willing MSM in trade for lives

Rachel Maddow and her team investigate the causes of today's problems in getting out ahead of the Ebola outbreak in this segment.
Ebola readiness hampered by GOP austerity/budget slashing agenda.
Plus a new ad out exposing the GOP's agenda of cutting and slashing and the role that it has played in complicating efforts to fight the spread of diseases.

Rachel Maddow follows up with this segment: US faces Ebola without Surgeon General
One of the main special interest donors of the GOP is the NRA.
During this entire Ebola outbreak the US has been without a Surgeon General. This is due almost exclusively to threats from the NRA to “score” legislators negatively as political punishment.
This effectively ended any chance that President Obama’s (November 14, 2013) nominee Vivek Hallegere Murthy for Surgeon General - Department of Health and Human Services would progress forward in the Senate.
I'm not too sympathetic toward Dems who cave to this kind of political extortion. It's the way republicans operate that we Dems should not back down from - imo.
It's low down dirty politics. The GOP way of placing corporate profits over lives

We need a Surgeon General, but instead the GOP demanded a new Czar despite their prior political pandering and accusations against President Obama for “all those commie Czars”.
So now that President Obama names Ron Klain Ebola ‘czar’ (covered by Laura Clawson @ Daily Kos | October 17, 2014)), totally predictably, asshole republicans flip flop and once again it’s back to more “commie Czar” squealing from the right:

Speaking of Cutting, slashing and extracting, below the fold is a connecting issue I found very interesting and important as I read it through
Deforestation and strip mining is a factor in the transmission of diseases. A broken up ecosystem that has far reaching consequences for humans and natures ability to heal itself.
Sort of like Big Oil's shipping canals; the dredging out of Louisiana marshland's natural protection opened the door for hurricane Katrina to cause far more devastation than otherwise.
So as the lies used to cover their actual agenda are becoming exposed, the republican are resorting to the only thing they have in abundance; hate and fear as a commodity
But this, if I hadn't been paying attention for some years now, I wouldn't believe It. republicans in their desperation to gain power and control over others are now fabricating links between this steaming pile of propaganda ingredients:
southern border security + amnesty + ISIS + Ebola + immigration + we're-all gunna-die-unless-GOP-is-in-charge-fear-mongering
F'cking unbelievable.. almost, if it wasn't so typical. Tying these seemingly disparate things into one big ball of fear-mongering bullshit propaganda while the real border that needs protection is the marshlands and the rain forests (as but two of many examples) protecting our southern coastline from storms and keeping the balance that nature has perfected over millions of years
I used our southern coastline marshlands as an example because they are nature's firewall. A complex ecosystem that took millions of years to evolve and are perfect for protecting the coastal inlands from violent storms.
The 100% corp powned GOP have already given over control to the most profitable industry in history - Big Oil - while fighting to protect that industry from having to pay for the devastation they are responsible for. Republicans would rather we, everyday people should pay instead.
Nature also has a natural firewall to today's Ebola outbreak. The rain forests. Millions of years of evolution that is being broken apart by deforestation, mining, and extraction
With more destruction by the GOP agenda; Cutting, Slashing, and Extracting.
I found these information sources very informative. Deforestation & Mining (especially strip mining) may have paved the way for the Ebola Outbreak.

The GOP agenda, what they stand for, is a party of deadly notions - not ideas, but schemes. Not solutions, but gambits. Not answers but lies.
Note: I didn't provide links to the various republican shenanigans mentioned above as I usually do. My back is awfully sore and their idiocy has reached a fever pitch that is hard to miss. It's all over the news, although the reporting of it isn't at all what it should be.
This is what the GOP is selling: our southern border + amnesty + ISIS + Ebola + immigration + we're all gunna die
that stinking pile of mind numbing fear-mongering mixture of hate, spite and dishonesty
But that isn't reported in the MSM. We have to have "balance"
The GOP agenda of punishment*; what they stand for is so wrong it's hard for me to find the words. So I'll just say; a vote for the republican party is deadly for people and the planet
- thank you for stopping by - the scattered rant is over and it's time to turn in

P.S. apologies for the disorganization, I hope the connection will come through despite of it. How we treat our environment is a BFD. We're all a part of nature not it's master, and the sooner we learn that (the whole and better part of us - that is), the better off the planet and our lives will be - imo
