Administrators at the Central Bucks High School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania have pulled the plug on the remainder of the season after allegations of
hazing freshmen players:
Central Bucks Regional Police Chief James Donnelly said police Wednesday investigated allegations of hazing involving younger players by seniors on the high school team, which has a legacy of four state championships. He said towels were placed over the heads of the younger players, who were then sent into the showers. Donnelly used the word “waterboarding” to describe what was allegedly done to the football players, a word he said was given to him by detectives who interviewed the high school principal.
Waterboarding wasn't the only inappropriate hazing going on:
In the statement, Weitzel said the majority of football players were involved in the “offensive and disrespectful actions in what were supposed to be preseason team-building activities.” He said that new players were involved in humiliating and inappropriate initiations which included making a rookie player grab another player’s private parts while fully clothed.
The Superintendent has suspended all varsity and junior varsity coaching staff after the revelations of hazing. Police are investigating whether any crimes have been committed.
