Is it possible? Could there actually be a race for the Democratic nomination between the two most preeminent women in the political world who both co-incidentally inhabit the same political party? Evidence is mounting that we may possibly have a horse race for the winner's circle.
Has my incessant jumping off my dresser while thinking of good things (financial regulation, living wages, reduced student debt, etc.) finally borne fruit and convinced Elizabeth Warren at a sub-atomic level that she really should run for President?
Modestly, I refuse to take complete credit, but it does appear that she might actually be giving it serious consideration. Lest you think this is simple wishful thinking on my part please read the evidence I provide below.
In this column Eugene Robinson defines any potential contest between Clinton and Warren as being between Inevitability and Inspiration. (Ouch!)

Sen. Elizabeth Warren says she isn’t running for president. At this rate, however, she may have to.
The Massachusetts Democrat has become the brightest ideological and rhetorical light in a party whose prospects are dimmed by — to use a word Jimmy Carter never uttered — malaise. Her weekend swing through Colorado, Minnesota and Iowa to rally the faithful displayed something no other potential contender for the 2016 presidential nomination, including Hillary Clinton, seems able to present: a message.
It's no secret that many many people, including myself, would give anything to have Warren enter the race to shake things up and to allow the American people the opportunity to choose between a Progressive Populist and a Pragmatic Centrist. We've been told up to this point that our wishes and dreams are just that, and that Elizabeth Warren will not be tossing her hat into the ring alongside Hillary's.
But, an itsty, bitsy little crack has appeared in that facade of denial. In an interview with People magazine, apparently Elizabeth Warren is not quite as adamant as she once was that she is not running:
From the LA Times:
Is Liberal Favorite Elizabeth Warren open to 2016 Presidential Run
People magazine drew out the following response from the Democratic senator and liberal favorite during a recent interview at her home in Cambridge, Mass.
"I don't think so," Warren said. "If there's any lesson I've learned in the last five years, it's don't be so sure about what lies ahead. There are amazing doors that could open."
Well, that was a different way to answer the same old question.
From Boston Magazine:
Elizabeth Warren Only Sort of Not Running For President
You don’t think so? Right now? Amazing doors? Sure, you’re still not running for president. Technically, nothing has changed. But this is a world where even your comically explicit denials got winks from incredulous journalists. So if you say “I don’t think so,” journalists hear, “Warm up the campaign jet, and start printing the bumper stickers.” And they definitely did not miss the signal this time. “Elizabeth Warren may have just opened the door to a White House run,” Salon declares. “Elizabeth Warren opens the door to a presidential run,” The Washington Post confirms.
So,what do you think? Is this a contest you would welcome?
Let me just stipulate ahead of time that I find the argument that Warren needs to stay in the Senate completely unpersuasive and will ask in advance why no one ever told Clinton or Obama or Biden or Kerry or anyone else that I can recall that they would be ever so much more effective in the Senate than as President. Just sayin.
