Received this e-mail today from Senator Mark Begich (D. AK) and Democracy for America:
The Kochs, Karl Rove, and other outside groups are spending big bucks -- $12 million so far -- to buy Alaska’s Senate seat.
These groups have helped make this race the most expensive in Alaska's history. Too many of these groups don’t disclose their donors. They have virtually no limits. And it's absolutely ridiculous.
Alaskans deserve to know who is behind the flood of ads coming at them. I’m calling on all outside groups spending money in Alaska to disclose their donors -- and today, I’m asking you to join me.
Sign my YouPower petition and urge outside groups to be straight with Alaska voters.

Alaska law requires contributions to be public and groups to disclose their top three donors in their commercials.
That's Alaska common sense. And it's a rule that should be adopted nationally.
I’ve worked for years to reform campaign finance laws, reverse the effect of Citizens United, and stop the flood of outside money in our democracy. But this isn’t the kind of fight you win all at once -- and it’s not something I can do alone.
So today, join me in urging outside groups involved in the Alaska Senate race to disclose their top donors immediately. Sign the YouPower petition today.

Thank you.

While we're on the subject of Alaska, just FYI:

The largest statewide organization of Alaska Natives has endorsed Democratic Sen. Mark Begich's re-election bid.
The Alaska Federation of Natives, or AFN, also endorsed independent candidate Bill Walker for governor. Walker is running with Democrat Byron Mallott, a former leader of Sealaska Corp.
Begich has been courting the rural vote, including Alaska Natives, in his hotly contested race with Republican Dan Sullivan.
Sullivan, a former state attorney general, has sought to play up his ties to the community, noting, in part, that his wife is Alaska Native.
A number of Native groups backed Begich in the lead-up to the AFN convention. Leaders of the Arctic Slope Regional Corp. had endorsed Sullivan. - KTUU, 10/27/14
