I officially ended my 2014 election season political giving last week. I'd like to get some feedback from any interested parties in terms of feedback for this cycle and suggestions for 2016.
I started making donations over the summer and tried to do one $20 or $25 donation per week as I could best manage it over the past few months. Here is my ultimate list:
Mary Burke - $25
Democratic Senate - $50 ($25x2)
Wendy Davis - $25
Democratic Governors - $25
Georgia Democratic Party - $20
Vince Rongione (PA House 163rd)- $20
John Kane (PA Sen 26) - $40 ($20x2)
Tom Wolf - $50 ($25x2)
So a total of $255 spread over some local/state/national donations was my ultimate contribution. Anything you folks think I should have done differently?
I hope it does some good, but on my radar for 2016 will be:
Sestak for Senate to get rid of Toomey
Hopefully some Democrats in: Arizona, Alaska, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Wouldn't picking up 8 to 11 Senate seats be fun?
PA Democratic Party - We need to get some pickups in the PA Legislature based on big turnout for the presidential election.
Whatever (Hillary I assume) Democrat earns our nomination for President.
Any other races you all could suggest looking at for the 2016 cycle?
Outside of my borough council election here in beautiful Media, PA I'm looking to slide my donations in 2015 to Planned Parenthood, some animal rescue, Defenders of Wildlife, a Chesapeake Bay group, and a few local land preservation organizations.
Am I missing anything cause wise you folks think I should check out?
Thanks for any suggestions.
