Come oh come ye tea-thirsty restless ones -- the kettle boils, bubbles and sings, musically. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Good evening, Kibitzers! I've been taking a lot of photos here at the Jersey shore, and I had thought by tonight I'd probably have downloaded, examined, and cropped quite a few of them for this diary. I'm working here on a Chromebook, however, and I cannot help but notice that, since the last time I did such work on this machine, Google has "upgraded" the relevant app so that it majorly sucks. My complaints are too numerous to list. Let's just say that I do not have the kind of time the "improved" app would require of me, so we will have just a few pictures tonight, and more next week.
The first couple of days here were rainy, but the ocean beach was no less pretty. I love the shore at any time of year, and in fact, it's much nicer when it's neither hot nor crowded. For those keeping track, I'm on Long Beach Island, the more southerly of two barrier islands along the New Jersey coast, and the one that fared a little better in Hurricane Sandy (not that there aren't still repairs and demolitions going on here!) More photos below the orange kelp.
An empty beach in the spitting rain.
Looking north.
Rugosa rose hips and goldenrod grow in the dunes at the beach entrance.
Off we go until next week...

Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who are caring and supportive of one another. So bring your stories, jokes, photos, funny pics, music, and interesting videos, as well as links—including quotations—to diaries, news stories, and books that you think this community would appreciate. Readers may notice that most who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but newcomers should not feel excluded. We welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
