In a clear leftward shift, Harry Reid has added Elizabeth Warren to the Senate's Democratic leadership roster. The other leaders (Reid, Schumer, Durbin, and Murray) will remain in their positions; Warren's post is a new one created by Reid just for her.
In her role, Warren will advise the leadership on progressive causes and on outreach to the progressive wing of the Senate Democratic caucus.
This strikes me as a pretty big deal. If only they'd done this before this year's elections.
