You should read "da noive" like a cartoon character saying "The nerve!"
I set this to publish on Wednesday 11/19 but somehow it published on Monday. I have reset it for Wednesday again, in case you read it and think "I have been here before."
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, earthquakes, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area, we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
OK, we do have a diary schedule. But, when you are ready to write that diary, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMOM a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FloridaSNMOM is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

Odd things happen in the naked city, this is one of them.
I was sitting in the left hand turn lane on a Sunday morning, on my way to church. A car pulled up next to me and the driver motioned me to roll down my window. I did and he asked me "Where is a better neighborhood than this one? I want to buy some houses in a white area near here." I was stunned at the question for a minute. I said "There is no white area near here." as I realized he spoke to me because I am an older white woman. Before I could continue he said "Yeah, tell me about it." Then I started in. I told him there was no "white neighborhood" here because we are a variety of Asian, Indian, Latino, Portuguese, Dutch, African American, and Filipino and "white". I told him there are more expensive houses further to the south of the area we were sitting in. I said "I wouldn't say they are better but they are more expensive." I neglected to mention any of the residents or their ethnic make up. He looked at me disgustedly and I rolled my window back up. As I said in the title "Da noive!"
There are pockets of showy wealth close to my actual neighborhood and stretches of depressing poverty closer. I have lived here since 1989, the area has not changed much since I came. I wondered, if he thought I knew the area well enough to tell him about it wouldn't I be insulted that he thought it was not good enough to invest in? So I am miffed at the "gentleman's" question/"better neighborhood"-"white area" jab. This is a better neighborhood for all its diversity.
What is your neighborhood like?
