Seriously, there isn't! Especially Republicans. They have been coming out with some winners in their on-going -Racist Fear Mongering Championships.
Today, Kansas Secretary of State, Kris Kobach and a constituent pondered the links between "socialism," immigration reform, and "ethnic cleansing."
Kobach Wonders If Hispanic Majority Would Conduct 'Ethnic Cleansing' In U.S.
Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, a leader in the anti-immigrant movement, said during his Sunday radio program that it’s possible that a Hispanic majority in the U.S. could conduct an “ethnic cleansing.”
Kobach made his remarks in response to a caller who asked, “What happens, if you know your history, when one culture or one race or one religion overwhelms another culture or race?....”
Unless I have missed something, the only "ethnic cleansing" and race based violence that has occurred in the United States, was the White Genocide of
Native Americans, and the horrific treatment of
African Americans through Slavery and Jim Crow.
There's more if you can stand to read Right Wing Watch's piece. But Kobach was hardly alone in letting his racist flag fly.
Some things defy reality, don't they? Me thinks he doth protest too much. If this is a case of projection, it's a dozy. It's as if he can't imagine any white/black relationship other than that of Master and Slave. Unfortunately, it seems there are too many voters who think the same. It's as if they all share the same distorted dream. The inferences are ugly and telling.
Aren't they just something, these proud and brave White Americans? There they are standing up for American values of - I want mine and I don't care who pays the price. I deserve it and they don't deserve anything. After all, I'm a valuable human being. They're not.
Just walking odes to American ideals, aren't they? Can't get much more Christian than that. Though I must admit to some reservations about how they would receive Jesus. After all, I doubt a Middle-Eastern Savior is going to show up looking like one of the GOP's favorite blue eyed, blond, sons.
Not to be left out, today Oklahoma's Senator Coburn joined the sing along to racist America by happily ignoring the fact that every Republican President since Eisenhower had issued Executive Orders on Immigration. Historical facts didn't stand a chance. After all, all those earlier Presidents were White guys. If a Black President does the same damn thing, he's a dictatorial Executive stirring up violence.
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) claims there could be "violence" if President Obama signs an executive order on immigration this week.
"The country's going to go nuts, because they're going to see it as a move outside the authority of the president, and it's going to be a very serious situation," Sen. Coburn told USA Today (video below).
"You're going to see, hopefully not, but you could see instances of anarchy... You could see violence," added Sen. Coburn....
Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Kelly, chimed in earlier this week, warning that President Obama, following in the foot steps of what six Republican Presidents had done before him, was creating a
"constitutional crises."
Not to be out done by the men folks, Phyllis Schlafly "told WorldNet Daily that Obama's upcoming executive order was like the Pearl Harbor attack of 1941..."
Yes, she did invoke the "Yellow Peril."
In other words - Oh, my god! We're all gonna die!
Yep. White folks are going to die because parents can't be taken away from their children.
Taking Executive Action is a call for violence because we can't do violence against families of immigrants.
It's a Constitutional Crises because a Black President is doing what six White Presidents have done before him.
It's going to be an ethnic cleansing of Whites by "simple minded darkies," and a Hispanic Majority.
What they're all saying of course is - Be afraid, White America! Be very afraid!
And too much of White America buys it, every damn time.
Gun sales are through the roof in the St. Louis area ahead of a Grand Jury's decision on the murder of Michael Brown. White people panicking is never a good thing for people of color.
“...It's like a fear campaign,” said Johnetta Elzie, 25, an activist who runs a daily newsletter that aggregates Ferguson news stories. She said she worried that government announcements of security and media coverage were creating an atmosphere of panic.
“Some of these people in mass hysteria have no relationship with black people,” she said. “Why are you stock-loading food? What is going to happen? They're moving out of fear and uncertainty.... I would be more worried and concerned about the police than the people [who are] protesting.”
John Gaskin III, the local NAACP representative, agreed on Twitter that the fears were being over-hyped. “Absolutely,” he said.....
Yesterday's Plantation overseers are all too often today's police force. And yet too much of White America will not wake up from its fear enduced dream to see who the monster beneath the bed truly is.
The Merchants of Fear keep on pounding the centuries long drumbeat of hate and fear. Too many White Americans still answer the call.
Our problems all stem from it.
Racism is the amnesia that keeps us from being honest with ourselves and with our country.
Only White Americans have left a long, bloody, trail through our history.
Only White Americans have excused slavery, cruelty, and poverty as God's work.
Only White America had the power to break the economy.
Only White America has destroyed countless families through genocide, greed, indifference, slavery, or deportation.
Too many White Americans vote their fears and not their hopes. Too many White Americans vote their racism and not our common humanity. Too many White Americans are indifferent. Too many White Americans don't vote at all.
Racism is the issue above all others that will determine if we fall or rise together.
The clock is ticking.
What will our choice be?
6:20 PM PT: Heads up!
6:44 PM PT: Police tell residents that Grand Jury decision will be released on Sunday.
