Al-Jazeera is running a 3 part series titled "WW I Through Arab Eyes." Part I aired on 15 Nov. Part II is scheduled for 5 Dec. You might be able to catch Part I as a re-run. It certainly gave me a perspective I never knew.
While watching Part I, Al-J has, like most every news station, a ticker running along the bottom of the screen. Some tidbits of note: 1) Russia tested a new, submarine launched ICBM; 2) Greenland is having a snap election because of stalled mining exploration and budget deficits. (The election was held 28 Nov).
Did you see either of those on the MSM? Didn't think so.
Some Chris Hayes tongue-in-cheek below.
After watching the recorded Al-Jazeera program, I caught Chris Hayes with his take on the Obama daughter flap.
The real issue here is that the Obama daughters appear to have had the indisputably, objectively correct reaction toward the entire turkey pardon tradition. Fact: there is perhaps no public event on the President's calendar more deserving of adolescent stand-offishness than this bizarre, cringe-inducing ceremony. Teenage contempt has never been more appropriate in any situation than when you are the President's daughters watching him pardon a turkey named 'Cheese.'
