The UF Dream Defenders and the Students for a Democratic Society have issued a letter to the office of the University of Florida president offering the opportunity to choose sides in the ongoing struggle for justice in black communities with regards to police brutality.
A response is expected by Friday morning. If the university responds with a denunciation of police brutality and injustice, we will support them and show the world that UF is an institution of character and morality. If not, we will march.
Join us at 5:00pm on Friday December 12th to learn about the university's response and join us in action.
That's what's coming up day after tomorrow.
The picture above is from day before yesterday when, following the awesome leadership of the UF Dream Defenders and the UF SDS, we citizens of Gainesville shut down a very busy intersection right at the University of Florida during rush hour. We shut it down for 11 minutes, one minute for each time Eric Garner said, "I can't breathe. Below the fold are some other pictures from that day. The website for local newspaper, has very good coverage if you're interested.
I'm not gonna comment on the pics because 1 - they pretty much speak for themselves and 2 - I'm really busy supporting the homies right now.
Peace, y'all.
