I'm sick of the CIA. Literally. Their terror, assassinations, lies and pure evil spread throughout the world almost since its inception makes me feel like wretching.
Yet what makes me even sicker is that a people that supposedly cherishes a free and open democracy allow a completely unaccountable secret agency to flourish unabated. And that over the decades they have let other parts of a national security state to grow out of control as well.
Our politicians, up to the president, continue to kiss the agency's ass no matter what reprehensible deeds its done in America's name. Our name - yours and mine. And no matter how much it's lied, manipulated and acted illegally against the government and people it's supposed to "serve."
More ranting below the angry orange eyebrows.
There is no doubt in my mind that CIA has caused more harm to America and the rest of the world than any benefit it could ever have had.
Decades ago, it infiltrated much of the government as well as the media. Ben Bradlee was a CIA media asset to give you an idea how extensive its influence went. And the problem with secret agencies is, nobody has any idea how much that influence continues. My guess is more than we could ever dream.
It's a sad fact that you cannot be too paranoid about the CIA. And yes, folks, it goes back to the Kennedy assassination.
It wasn't covered anywhere in the mainstream media, but on the 50th anniversary of the Warren Report, Robert Blakely, who ran the second major investigation into the assassination, released a statement saying the CIA feloniously obstructed the House investigation in the 70s and any statements made to any federal investigators, including the Warren Commission, should be discounted. Blakey said the agency should instead be investigated for this obstruction for the past 50 years by Justice, Congress or both.
This isn't some crackpot saying the CIA is sending satellite signals to his brain. This is the chief counsel of a Congressional investigation into the assassination of a sitting U.S. president.
But we as Americans already know nothing will happen regarding the agency's obstruction around the JFK assassination nor the CIA's operation against Congress to keep the truth of its torture program from us.
We also know no presidential candidate could or would run on a platform to reign in the secret security apparatus of this so-called democracy. CIA-friendly media and govt officials would take them down. And if that didn't work, who knows?
Friends, countrymen and women, it's so past time to dismantle this monster of the Cold War and related "intelligence" organizations and return control of the country's security to the citizens of the Republic. We can do better than this. We can gather data on the bad guys without a bloated, arrogant bureaucracy that is more interested in protecting its continuing existence than us.
And do you know what the national media did cover on the 50th anniversary of the Warren Report? A sweet little story about how a Starbucks inside the CIA headquarters in Langley serves the hard-working spooks of our national security state. And the spooks have to give fake names to the barista!
And on that note, I think I will go puke.
