Cloverleaf Elementary school, in Cartersville, Georgia had a
special giveaway last Thursday:
"We were in class and our teacher said these people have volunteered to hand out Bibles. She said there's going to be a line in the library," said Leo Butler.
Butler says during the school day, every student in his class had a choice: take a Bible or walk ahead of the line to the other side of the room.
After not returning calls from Leo's mother (who, a Christian herself, had her son return the Bible the next day), the school's Facebook page posted this:
"The Gideons are permitted to offer Bibles to students who wish to pick them up. It is strictly voluntary and the library was the location where students could pick one up; out (sic) librarian did not give them out. We appreciate your input. If you have further concerns, please contact administration during school hours. Thank you!"
