Barry Barry Quite Contrary, How Does Your Legacy Grow?
You tempted the masses with hope and change
Utopia soon would be known.
With the wind at your back, dems poised to attack
Who knew how this chance would be blown.
But the first thing you did was pardon the rich
For the financial crisis they had sewn.
The rich got richer, the stock market soared
For six years the wealth gap has grown.
The battered unions fought for your cause
But the White House would not be their throne.
Your lack of support for the E-F-C-A
Led union brothers and sisters to groan.
You drilled and fracked at a frantic pace
If only Bush and Cheney had known.
It may not have been wise for the men full of lies
To have thrown at you the first stone.
You refused to battle with Mitch and John
And told progressives "go home."
Time will decide on whose side you were on
Your true colors will have been shown.
The Kochs, FAUX News and Limbaugh have won
Your legacy, Barack you now own.
If only your brains and your infinite charm
Were instead a big pair of cahones.
