Recently Robert Bradley Jr., CEO and founder of the Institute for Energy Research, wrote an oped arguing against the EPA's Clean Power Plan. Since IER is the research arm of the lobbying group American Energy Alliance, and both are funded by Koch and other industry money, this is no surprise.
In the piece (which was originally published on Dec 10th at the Montgomery Herald and then reprinted at GrandRapidsMN.com on Dec 16th) Bradley cites various utility and industry groups to claim that the plan will be too pricey, something that industry has said about pretty much every regulation ever (here are some examples.)
On the bright side, at least this piece isn't quite as disgusting as the American Energy Alliance's cartoon that compared EPA regulations to CIA torture.
It's also a good sign that Bradley seems to have had quite a bit of difficultly getting it placed. It reads like it was written back in October, referring to a "recent" WSJ oped published Oct 9th and calling the IPCC report "new," but didn't get published until December. Apparently it took Bradley months to find an outlet willing to publish his piece, and even then the best he could do was Montgomery, West Virginia and Grand Rapids, Minnesotaânot even Michigan's Grand Rapids! With all due respect to those outlets, they're not exactly the type of major paper that could once be counted on to run denier op-eds.

The Climate Action Hub
Building upon the momentum generated by the People's Climate March, The Climate Action Hub focuses the energy and ideas that converged around the 2014 UN Climate Summit to engage civil participation in local, regional and global climate action. The Hub showcases NGOs, eco writers, scientists, bloggers and YOU in a group mission to amplify messaging and promote action on such issues as climate justice, sustainable development and clean energy. It will also serve as a forum for educating and informing the wider public and expand the civil movement to ensure success at the 2015 UNFCCC Paris Climate Summit. Please add any information on climate actions in comments below.
The Climate Action Hub at Daily Kos seeks volunteer ambassadors of climate activism to work on our 'eco swat team' in local communities and here at Daily Kos to disseminate information about the growing role of civil society in climate solutions. Join us here at Daily Kos to contribute your skills and experience. We need all hands on deck!
