Mark Twain gave history a name called The Gilded Age: A Tale of today.
It was the title of a book written in 1873. Life was changing a few folks got rich, and the rest of America was poor.
History most of the time repeats itself. We need to make plans studying what folks did
In the 1st Guilded age. The rich earlier bought Congress, spent millions and controlled
society.
Once again, we are living in an era not seen since the late 1800's. The safety net was
Helped by Franklin Roosevelt, but World War Two really brought people back to work. Unions earlier in our history, rent strikes, a militant population
fought for fundamental rights for the middle class.
President Obama was forced to let wall street make risky investments again. If wall
street fails as they did in 2008, we the taxpayers will bail out the investors with
our tax dollars. Our president had little choice. American voters seem to want a division in the government. I don't believe that at all. Republicans played on fear, racism,
and a lie that government is a problem, not a solution. Corporations are making money,
job growth is high so life is good, right?
No,life for most of us isn't better. Newly created jobs pay little, offer few or no
benefits. How many married couples can live on one salary? The rich are
getting richer by the year. Come to Redmond, Washington. I will show you houses
that will take your breath away.
Folks earlier in history fought for benefits. Now union membership is at an all time
low. Some among us feel we too can join the 1%. Perhaps a few can, but we need
to study how the first age like we have now was a tool that made life better for all.
We have a Democratic party in fear. We need to let every Democrat in power know
we have their backs. We need to know our history. Every benefit we have was fought
for. Now we need to stand up and fight like hell the next two years to let the Republican fat cats, Fox, (they are not a news network!) and be prepared to be called communists, socialists and against God.
Our side loves and cares for all. If my Grandma were alive today, I shudder how
good her life good be.
Lets start now laying the groundwork for an election in 2016 of good vs evil.

ever saw a flock of birds of which two
or three were swimming in grease and the
others all skin and bone.
