THIS JUST IN - On his Facebook page yesterday, evangelical pastor, former Governor of Arkansas, weight-loss guru, and talk-show host Mike Huckabee announced he was quitting Fox News in preparation for a 2016 run for the US presidency. "The honorable thing to do at this point is to end my tenure here at Fox, so I can openly talk with potential donors and supporters and gauge support," Huckabee said in a Facebook post saying goodbye to his viewers on Saturday.
Gov. Huckabee's show "Huckabee" has been on the Fox network for 6 years.
Recently on his show, Huckabee said "I'm not going to make a decision about running until late in the spring of 2015, but the continued (political) chatter has put Fox News in a position that just isn’t fair to them."
Huckabee joins Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich as Fox News on-air personalities who quit Fox News in order to run for high office.
In advance of his presidential bid, Huckabee is also expected to release a book titled, “God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy” later in January.

There are also rumors of a second shorter text "Donate $20,000 Now, and I'll Give You $50,000 When I Get To Be President", already in private circulation among Huckabee's close associates.
