As the news broke about the horrific terrorist attacks on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, I was on a plane flying to speak in Houston, Texas. I got my sketchbook out and drew this cartoon as a defiant response to the brutal ideologically driven murders of twelve, including four French cartoonists, several journalists and police. I snapped a photo of it and posted it online, and it soon, like many other cartoons that day, went globally viral. I really wish this drawing didn't have to exist.
