Terry Jones, serving up super-sized fries with a side of hate
Do you remember Florida Pastor Terry Jones? He burned a Quran and planned to burn 2,998 copies in 2013, but was
arrested on a variety of charges before he could carry out his plan.
Apparently his hate-filled schtick wasn't paying the bills because he's now operating a french fry stand in a Florida mall:
The Rev. Terry Jones has opened Fry Guys Gourmet Fries in the food court at DeSoto Square mall. When customers arrive at the counter, they see a drawing of Jones' stern face front and center in what looks like a police sketch beside pictures of the other two co-owners. Their slogan: "We Take Fries Seriously."
Mall management was unaware of his background, but they seem unconcerned one of
al-Qaeda's most wanted is slinging fries at the Bradenton mall:
"People have an opportunity to do business in America because we are a free country," Tackett said. "He has not caused any problems or concerns. In fact, this is the first time I've heard any of this."
For what it's worth, Charlie Hebdo editor Stephane Charbonnier was also on the most wanted
list.
Local officials said they were not aware of any immediate threats:
Having Jones as a terrorist target operating a business in a mall could be cause for concern. Tackett said a member of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office intelligence unit contacted him Thursday and assured him there weren't any security threats to the mall because of Jones' business.
So, for now, you can head over to the Brandenton, Florida mall and get a super-sized order of fries with a side of hate. Because, America.
