Remember the good ole' days? Time was slow, company was the entertainment and money was tight. In the roaring 40's and 50's people understood what it was like to have too much time.
Families would go to other's homes on weekends instead of working 40 hour work weeks and they had time to visit on the porch. Today, the weekends means run, run and more running catching up on all the errands, bills to pay and groceries not to mention ten loads of laundry awaiting us when we get home. My how times have changed.
Mother used to talk about the boredom, no television, only an am radio the entire family would gather around the table in the living room to listen to the Grand Ole Opry. Roy Acuff was the star of the show. Now, families are spread out all over the home, some on the internet, some watching tv and others lost in trying to make up for lost time helping children do 2-3 hours of homework and finishing up dinner dishes in time to collapse at bed time.
This is how life was verses is. We have more convinces now than ever, yet time is slipping away.
