O.K. Shit I`ve had it!!
I know where you live punk. Stop calling this Goddam number
At 7:30 a.m. this Monday morning my phone rang. I`m one of those folks who has this feature on my phone called `Caller ID`. If you have caller ID as I do you can see who is calling you, right?
That is exactly why we chose this feature after hearing from so many people who do not have caller ID on their phone that they answered their phones to scams, cybermarketings, or telemarketings whatever these annoying people represent. In my home we only answer the phone when we recognise the call coming in as one we know. Otherwise we never answer. And the phone rings, rings and rings even on Sundays.
That type of unsolicited or unwanted annoying calls have been a daily staple for us for weeks now. But this morning at 7:30 a.m. Shit I`ve had it.
Can you help? How the fuck can I stop this.
The caller that shows on my caller ID phone is 800-450-0037. Oh I know, you probably already know where I`m coming from with this plea for help. According to Google where I have asked who this number belongs to, it`s a fucking bank. I am not sure but it appears that this bank is in Virginia, probably as global head quarters for some 5th banks as this number is listed throughout the U.S.
I assume this because Google shows under this 800 number many people are getting the same type of call coming into my phone. And these people are scattered around the globe I could easily say. Most have never done business with this bank, and to not owe money to this bank.
I wanted to see if I could get a live person on the phone to tell them to stop this shit of calling my home. So I used my cell phone. Yeah, smart-ass ole Texan would show them.
The trained machine answered my call. "if you know your account number, please enter it now, using the `pound key` on my phone. It sounds something like that.
I entered some numbers with `fuck you` in them. I pressed the `operator` key. the next message told me:
"If you do not know your account number, please enter your Social Security number"
I click the operator key and was put in contact with a live person. He gave me his name.
He also repeated the message that I enter my account number or social security.
That is when I fucking lost it.
"Fuck you!, stop calling people with this scam. I know who you are. You better stop calling"
But the same caller came today.
I know about what I am writing because I googled the number. My account number was requested even though I have no business with this bank now or ever. Even my Social Security number was requested.
This is a fucking rant, not a diary. I am quite certain that some of you know this 800 number. Even if you have caller ID, what are you doing about it. What can I do?
Oh yeah, I went to the `don`t call` federal registry and entered my number. I am told I have to wait 31 days for the my request to click.
So I checked to see how this `don`t call list` is all about , and whether it will help me get rid of this annoying telemarketing scam calls. I understand that after 31 days if those calls persist, I can file a complaint.
Yeah right.
It seems that bill collectors can call and hound you even if they do no identify their numbers when calling. Anyone you owe money to, or do business with can call you even if your number is on the no`call list.
Oh, and my cell phone is one of those freebies from the gov. I could care less if I have forfieted that poor soul`s benefit. I very rarely use it, only to see the time of day when I wait for a bus with a transfer to be sure my time has not expired.
But things are not that bad for me lately. I even feel like I was given back my glass of milk and cookie after being sent to bed without a few days ago for being a bad bad boy.
I noted that my fifth mojo bar is back on and shinning bright.... I missed it. Thanks
O.K. the phone rang again. Yeah that same 800 number. Oh well.
You can google: The 800 number. You will be amazed at the number of people getting the same calls and requests. Oh, and I`m editing to say that if you have a cell phone that is not getting these calls. Call the number, play with the trained machine until you get connected to a live person.
The first thing he will tell you is that if you know your account number, to enter it and press the pound key - if you do not know that number, than enter your social security #.
Pretty cool ain`t it?
