We've got lots to talk about, what POTUS had to say, who is going to replace Barbara Boxer, and we're going to need a new group photographer.
Now for the unusual event. I was driving north on the freeway earlier this week and all of a sudden there is a slew of brake lights ahead of me, for no obvious reason. Then I see why: on the other side of the barrier, speeding south in the carpool lane, there are several police or CHP cars, with lights revolving and flashing, followed by a number of yellow vehicles also with flashing lights. The yellows all have the word Lifeguard painted on the side, and attached to the top (or possibly the side of some; they were going fast so I'm not sure) were the surfboards they use for paddling into the ocean.
I have never seen this before and no one I told this story to has, either. That evening and the next day I checked the news for any event that might explain it, but found nothing.
Have you seen anything similar?
