Democrats still
aren't on board with House Speaker John Boehner's ploy to pass a bill that only extends Homeland Security funding for three weeks. So he'll have to find the votes himself.
Here's a statement from a Democratic leadership aide issued Thursday.
The House Democratic leadership is whipping against this bill. If House Republicans want to end up with another crisis that risks our national security in a matter of days they can do it with 218 votes of their own.
And even if Boehner does pass it, it's still not clear that the Senate is going to take it up.
If you want to tell your member to vote for a clean bill that funds DHS through September (not just 3 weeks), here's the number for House switchboard: (202) 224-3121. And here's a link to find your representative.
