So, in case anyone hasn't noticed, things can sometimes be too much. Either at home or at work, or your personal life, sometimes it creeps up on you and makes you sad, mad, afraid, frustrated.
Maybe you don't like what's going on in the world. Another black man shot by police, someone trying to take your rights away because of who you love, republicans threatening to shut down the government....again, problems with the significant other, problems with the kids, terrorist going on killing sprees. We all react differently to different things, but in the end it's all about putting it in perspective.
Sometimes I myself like to just wish I could live in my own little bubble where I can't see the worlds ignorance. I know this will never be reality, but it's nice to imagine.
There's a song from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, called In My Own Little Corner. The song describes Cinderella trying to escape from her awful life of living with her evil step mother and step sisters by imaging different things. While, not quit as realistic, or violent as what's going on in todays world, it could be used as an example of someone's "happy place". There are many different versions of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, but the one I grew up with stars Brandy and Whitney Houston, as shown below.
What type of things do you do to go to your happy place? Do you listen to certain music? Garden? I just figure with everything that's going on in the world, we could all take a moment to distract ourselves.
