In how much fear should we live.
I don't watch movies specifically designed as horror films, although I have watched my share of big/small budget films that use gore to heighten dramatic or action elements. It is always about the unexpected cinematic jump-cut.
In the real, non-cinematic world, cops seem to take a lot of personal images of dead victims at crime scenes and the Daesh like showing their beheadings online. Both groups share some similarities that says something about their respective cultures.
So that being said you should not Google / make an online search using the term "gunfight" or "Daesh" unless you want to see some so-called "graphic imagery" needless to say this is a Trigger Warning that some will ignore for whatever paraphilic reason.
Consuming violent media is more likely to make people feel more hostile, to view the world that way, and to be haunted by violent ideas and images. Torture porn (Abu Grahib) is only one part of the genre and there is a competitive market in cinematic special-effects gore, whether analog or digital.
What It Says About You If You Enjoy Horror Movies

Without pursuing this further it does seem clear that political policies and actions designed to punish or intimidate others does seem to fall into some clear social categories and helps to explain how violence and terror take precedence often unnecessarily. OTOH there are enough people who get some sort of pleasure from violence with whom we interact daily, often unwittingly motivated by numerous cultural objects and actions.
