Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) now has a regret about that letter to Iran's leadership he and 46 other Republicans signed. Can you guess
what it is?
“I suppose the only regret is who it’s addressed to,” Johnson said during a Friday breakfast with Bloomberg staff. “But the content of the letter, the fact that it was an open letter, none whatsoever.”
Republicans sent the divisive message on Monday. It informed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, that Congress could ultimately walk away from any deal on Iran’s nuclear weapons programs upon review.
So the regret is the letter to Iranian leadership shouldn't have been addressed to the Iranian leadership. All right.
It's at least a more specific "regret" than Sen. John McCain's more generalized sniffling that "maybe that wasn't the best way" to try to sabotage negotiations.
