National Cherry Blossom Festival ~ The Nation's Biggest Springtime Celebration
Washington DC ~ March 20 - April 12
"A gift from Japan, the flowering trees symbolize friendship between nations, the renewal of spring, and the ephemeral nature of life..."
Just a few days left to enjoy the cherry blossoms in DC. The Festival ends this weekend, and the blossoms rarely last for long afterward. Spring rains bring them down -- and today, tomorrow, and Saturday's DC weather looks to be a blossom-wrecking spate of inside-the-beltway rain. たわごと!!!! We'll have to cyber-enjoy them from cyber-afar...
But wait! There are still plenty of exciting Events like live entertainment, paddle-boating on the river, park ranger-led tours, and the always adrenaline-laden floral design classes.
