A much more dangerous than the Indiana-style bill, North Carolina H.B. 348 (500, is quickly coming down the pipeline and could hit the House for a vote as early as tomorrow.
This bill goes much further than the Indiana bill did in allowing businesses to turn away gay people. It could open the floodgates for a landlord to evict a hardworking single mother, a doctor to deny care to the child of a same-sex couple, or a judge to pardon an abuser instead of protecting a domestic violence survivor – all under the guise of religious freedom.
