This is going to be pretty short and sweet. I have been in the hospital with what doctors refer to as a "violent" stomach virus. I got out yesterday. While I was there, what I watched was a thing of beauty. More about that below.
I was treated by two doctors, one Jewish and one Muslim. They worked together beautifully. The nursing staff was male and female, black and white, Hispanic and Asian, gay and straight, all working together toward a common goal. They worked together, laughed together and cried together, all the while doing an outstanding job.
The support staff was just as great. An older woman who cleaned rooms and made everyone laugh with her strong German accent; and a woman from food services who made everyone laugh with her great Irish accent.
The entire staff was great to watch as they all performed the role to which they were assigned. If it can work in this environment; why can't it work everywhere. Thanks.
