Nearly all of us have engaged in a natural, pleasurable activity that despite clerical, parental and scholastic warnings, did not make us go blind. (Most of us didn't get warts on our hands, either.) We've been learning over the past two years, and this week in South Carolina in particular, that there are other things and people that actually will make you go blind.
These include (a) the Governors and/or Legislatures of 15 States who rejected Medicaid Expansion; (b) People metaphorically blinded by ideology and rage; and (c) a possible majority of the Supreme Court who share that ideology and rage.
These malignant forces not only can make people blind, but can and are killing people by the thousands. Tortmaster showed us on April 24 that the Governor of Texas permits the death of a small town every year. The South Carolina man in Brainwrap's diaries is a victim of both Governor Haley and his own self-destructive hatred of the ACA and the President. In about a month, we will find out if thousands more people will be imperiled by the Supreme Court decision in King v. Burwell -- a case that is the very definition of frivolous litigation.
To sum up:
It's absolutely fine and safe to be "Master of Your Domain," but Republicans can actually make you go blind.
