Jeb Bush is running the old political trick of trying to make his failure look like a strength, and he thinks we're not going to notice. Having
repeatedly made a fool of himself fumbling his answers on Iraq, Bush wants to talk about Hillary Clinton
ignoring the media. He may not know whether he would have invaded Iraq, but he knows that
reporters can be distracted by Clinton attacks:
“I was watching Fox last night,” Mr. Bush said. “Somebody had actually counted up the times that Hillary Clinton had been asked a question. I think she’s been asked six times by the press. In public settings, I don’t know that she’s been asked any questions.”
"I was watching Fox ... I think ... I don't know." That's some laser precision right there.
He added, “I’ve been asked hundreds of questions both from the press and from people.”
Yes, and you've been whiffing them of late, which is blatantly what this line of attack is about.
Maybe, considering his slide in Republican primary polling, Jeb ought to stop trying to pretend he's already in the general election and focus on winning the primary.
