As the Patriot act starts to sunset (we hope) there is the unfinished business of Mr . Snowden still to be resolved, is he a traitor to this country or is he a Patriot in the vein of Mr. Elsberg? Did he by his actions give aid to an unresolved amorphous enemy whose shape and structure changes almost daily according to whichever talking head you believe that day, or did he expose a deeply corrupt and marginally legal (Constitutional?) Mass surveillance operation with dubious end results and purpose with no real oversight, remember he got out with thousands of documents and was able to leave our country without anyone stopping or even knowing he had done anything, in light of the type of information he's disclosed has he done anything more than embarrass the powers that be with no real damage to this nations military readiness and security? Lets talk.
I mentioned a Mr. Elsberg earlier whose disclosure of secret Pentagon studies and assessments of the Vietnam War which deeply embarrassed the DOD and the Whitehouse because of the similarities between the two scandals and their respective political and social climates, History tends to run in cycles and the wheel seems to have turned full circle.
