My takeaways from these two latest polls (and folks here who follow my comments know I’m NOT a fan of these absurdly early, extremely volatile numbers): Hillary’s experiencing some significant slippage with her unfavorable numbers spiking (but, she’s still light years ahead of everyone else on the Dem side); and Jeb’s no longer the frontrunner for the G.O.P. nom (which now appears to be quite the traffic mash-up at the top of a very crowded pack; personally, I think folks are underestimating Pataki, who may develop into somewhat of a dark horse, going forward – given that he may clearly emerge as the most moderate in the field, and his recent TV appearances are demonstrating that he’s more polished in front of the cameras, this time around – with Jeb getting downright hammered at this early juncture).
And, yes, Sanders has doubled his numbers in the past 30 days; while it appears that Biden has held-on to the (distant) number two position, even though it's more uncertain than ever, with the passing of son Beau, whether he'll even be a candidate.

Poll: New speed bumps for Clinton

Washington (CNN) More people have an unfavorable view of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton now than at any time since 2001, according to a new CNN/ORC poll on the 2016 race.
While Clinton remains strikingly dominant in the Democratic field, the poll shows that her numbers have dropped significantly across several key indicators since she launched her campaign in April.
A growing number of people say she is not honest and trustworthy (57%, up from 49% in March), less than half feel she cares about people like them (47%, down from 53% last July) and more now feel she does not inspire confidence (50%, up from 42% last March).
On the Republican side, though, no candidate has successfully broken out of the pack.
The group of seven that have come to dominate most polling on the race hold the top of the charts in this poll, Sen. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush leading the pack with Mike Huckabee, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Sen. Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Sen. Rand Paul all in the hunt.
Much of Clinton's fade is attributable to shifts among independents, but she's also losing some ground among her own partisans. Her support in the Democratic nomination contest has dropped 9 points since April, and though more than 8-in-10 Democrats said they thought she was honest and trustworthy earlier this year; now, just 73% say so…

Frontrunner angst: Bush lead evaporates, Clinton favorability hits 7-year low
By Dan Balz and Peyton M. Craighill

After five months of forums, fundraising appearances and trips to the early states, the 2016 Republican nomination contest is as unsettled as ever, with no candidate receiving more than 11 percent support and seven candidates all within three points of one another, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Meanwhile, Hillary Rodham Clinton continues to dominate the Democratic nomination contest. But her personal attributes continue to erode in the wake of stories about fundraising practices at the Clinton Foundation and her use of a personal e-mail server while at the State Department.
Clinton’s favorability ratings are the lowest in a Post-ABC poll since April 2008, when she was running for president the first time. Today, 41 percent of Americans say she is honest and trustworthy, compared with 52 percent who say she is not — a 22-point swing in the past year…
…
…Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky top the list at 11 percent each among Republicans and Republican-leaning independent registered voters. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida are at 10 percent each. All others among the 16 candidates tested are in single digits…
