D. Bagg, cable boss. He likes Yachts and hates your freedom to access the open internet.
Earlier this year, activists pushed forward a huge victory to protect an open internet and prevent cable companies from tearing the internet apart.
Now, we're in the phase where they start pulling out all of their legislative and judicial maneuvers in an attempt to undermine this massive public interest victory.
Cable companies and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have filed lawsuits with the Court of Appeals of DC to overturn the rules which are scheduled to go into effect on Friday, June 12.
Additionally, they've asked the Court to "stay" the rules and prevent them from taking effect until the court challenges are completely finished and decided. As of Wednesday, June 10, the Court has not issued its ruling, though it is expected any time.
Further, in a sneak attack, Big Cable lobbyists and their friends in Congress have entered numerous riders onto an appropriations funding bill which threaten to undermine the FCC and derail net neutrality.
You can call members of the Appropriations committee by clicking here. Demand they stop this sneak attack. Congress should stay out of this and let the FCC do its job to protect net neutrality.
If you can't call, please use this page to send an email to your member of Congress, urging them to reject any attempts to weaken the FCC or net neutrality.
So yeah, D. Bagg, the pseudo-cable boss, doesn't want you to have net neutrality. This spoof isn't that far off, the cable companies are issuing sneak attacks on all fronts to take away your rights.
