I have had some company from Chile staying with me now for over a month and are leaving this week. They will be flying to Miami to stay a few weeks before returning home. After they cooked paella last night for eight, I informed them this morning that today was their day and asked where would they like to go on a field trip. They have previously visited every major urban area on both coasts but today they wanted something uniquely American.
I decided to drive from Connecticut to the central area of Massachusetts. It just so happened that I know some people that open their farm to the public one day a year and today was that day. I could not have picked a better place as my guests had a great time.
Below is one of the farm's trucks.
The Chileans took a thousand photos but these are a few of mine.
I hated pulling out to leave after a perfect afternoon but we needed to get back home. They really enjoyed themselves and loved seeing a way of life that is so different than in Chile. I realized that I probably needed that trip to the farm today more than they did and had a better time as well! Tomorrow is a work day for me and it will be time to hit my feet back on the concrete.
