Back atcha, ladyfolks.
One of the reasons Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker tries so very,
very hard not to express opinions on things is because when he does pipe up with one, it is often inane. Case in point: Walker was asked what he thought of laws that would require equal pay for men and women. He doesn't like those, because they "
pit one group against another group."
Walker replied, “I think an even bigger issue than that is that this is sadly something that would make her consistent with the president, and that is I believe that the president and now Hillary Clinton tend to think politically they do better if they pit one group of Americans versus another.” He went on to say that he thinks Americans are looking for leaders who “are going to stand up and say, ‘How do we make every American’s life better, how do we help everyone get a piece of the American Dream,’ not how do we pit one group against another group out there.”
Yes, that's the problem with equal pay laws. Asking employers to pay female employees wages similar to their male counterparts is so
divisive. So pipe down, womenfolk, and stop dividing the country by pitting yourself against the menfolk for your equal pay.
As I said, you can see why Scott Walker tries so very hard not to give opinions on things. He wants to be a Reagan, but his actual policy thoughts lie somewhere between the ravings of Mike Huckabee and the know-your-place rhetoric of Rick Santorum.
