It's been an amazing week, hasn't it. Two weeks really, two whole weeks where Intense Debate abounds.
I'm tempted to slit my wrists.
Yet another church slaying, another democratic legislator gunned down in cold blood, another civil rights activist martyred, and all because . . .
because why, exactly?
It is true, the Battle Standard of Hate and Oppression is falling to the ground throughout the South - founded as it is upon the quick sand of Treason one can hardly comprehend why, exactly, it has taken 150 years, 2 months and 9 days - from the Day of Lee's surrender at Appomattox to the slaughter of innocence in a South Carolina Church but ten days ago . . .
. . . one cannot comprehend why it has taken so long or cost so much to remove such a symbol of hatred and oppression - of treason - from the cradle of state sanction and legitimacy - it is as if each long day from April 9, 1865, to this, stands as far more than some mere foot note to the American capacity for blatant denial of injustice. If it is indeed much more, then perhaps it is the assurance and proof that American Conservative Values of Bigotry and Hatred must live on.
While we are on the subject of American Conservative Values of Injustice and Oppression, let us turn to the statements of the Supreme Court Wing of the Right Wing Fringe.

". . . the Constitution has nothing to do with it. . . ."
What a disingenuous pair of scumbags. These men are not fit to adjudicate matters of law, not any law. To dissent is a fine thing, an American tradition, and on occasion even a matter of Patriotism. But what these men have done is little more than to pander, as would any other politician, and do so from the very bench of THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT.
They pander to the interests of bigotry, hatred, and injustice; they do so without apology, and make of their office no more than theater and political posturing, assert little understanding of either the Constitution itself or of American History.
WHEN THE 14TH AMENDMENT WAS WRITTEN SLAVERY AS A NATIONAL INSTITUTION WAS BUT THREE YEARS DEAD AND WOMEN HAD NO MORE RIGHT TO VOTE THAN THEY DID TO AN EDUCATION OR EVEN A HUMBLE OPINION. THEY WERE BUT CHATTEL BEFORE THE EYES OF THE LAW AND THAT DESPITE OUR CONSTITUTION, THE CIVIL WAR JUST ENDED, OR THAT JUST RATIFIED 14TH AMENDMENT.
THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION ASSURES EVERY AMERICAN THAT A SEPARATION BETWEEN THE CHURCH AND THE STATE DOES EXIST.
MARRIAGE IS A FUNCTION OF BOTH CHURCH AND OF STATE, AND IT IS BOTH REASONABLE AND JUST THAT THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT SHOULD REAFFIRM THAT SEPARATION WITH THIS DECISION, FOR THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION DOES AND MUST BE INTERPRETED TO PROHIBIT DISCRIMINATION REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CITIZEN BE IN THE VOTING BOOTH OR UPON THEIR DEATH BED.
IT NEITHER BREAKS MY BONES NOR PICKS MY POCKET WHEN ONE WOMAN'S PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS BE FOUND IN THE ARMS OF ANOTHER WOMAN. NOT ALL OF US MUST CELEBRATE THIS FREEDOM, BUT BY GOD LET NONE DISRESPECT IT.
These disingenuous bastards would have us suppose one of two things - that either the ignorance they put forth as opinion was genuine and not feigned, something other than theatrical costume to be adorned as occasion may demand - or they would have us suppose that the adoption of such theatrical hijinx was somehow right and proper, a just function of their office.
I say I could find no more outrageous assertions than were I to hear ardent pleas for the cold blooded murder of these Right Wing Judicial Activists in the streets of DC. These men do offend, and their offense is grave.
Rather than preserve the dignity of their high office with either silence or a simple acknowledgement that no reasonable defense of injustice nor of oppression may be made from the bench, these men, right wing judicial activists to the core, thunder in bareback upon the galloping gish and call it opinion. These black robed profligates offer the public no more than the kind of nonsense that abounds among the nether reaches of the right wing blogosphere and find it a suitable offering from their hands to the public they are sworn to serve.
This offense is grave I say, and therein let them lay, let them lay and let them rot.
These right wing judicial activists must resign. And if they will not then let them be impeached. And if the Congress has no stomach for what is right and just, then let the people arm themselves with pitchfork and with torch, and bear these men hence from the People's Seat of Power bound upon a rail, smothered in tar, screaming for mercy.
Let them reap rail for rail, and let them weep at the reaping.
