The image shown here comes from Scott Lively’s book Called The Pink Swastika wherein he makes the radical claim that gay men were behind the Holocaust! Suffice it to say that Scott Lively is not only a hateful bigot but is apparently unhinged as well.
As many of you probably recall the extremely anti-gay pastor, Scott Lively was essentially charged with Crimes Against Humanity in March, 2012 for his efforts in working with Ugandan officials to craft anti-gay legislation into law.
The case was brought forward by the Center for Constitutional Rights on behalf of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG).
Apparently Scott Lively was not able to do enough to craft anti-gay laws in America and so he began exporting his hatred of LGBT people abroad.
Beginning in March, 2009 Scott Lively began exporting his hatred of LGBT people to Uganda. He, along with evangelical activists Don Schmierer and Caleb Brundidge traveled to Uganda to help orchestrate anti-gay legislation into law.
This bill is commonly referred to as the Kill The Gays Bill. After strong international condemnation Ugandan officials backed this off to the possibility of Life in Prison.
A few quotes from Slate in December, 2014 follows:
He doesn’t think locally, he thinks globally, and he has successfully influenced anti-gay policies in other countries, most notably in Uganda from whence the current lawsuit originates.
A bit of backstory: In early 2009, having toured Russia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, and Belarus, advocating the eradication of homosexuality, Lively was invited by evangelists in Uganda to participate in a so-called protection of family values seminar called “Exposing the Homosexuals’ Agenda.” What Lively did there, he would later boast, had the effect of “a nuclear bomb.
In a country where more than half the population is under 15, and in a culture so deeply rooted in community that family is paramount to an individual’s sense of identity, Lively preached that homosexuals were coming into Uganda to recruit Ugandan children and that homosexuals would rip apart the very fabric of Ugandan society—the family—if they weren’t stopped. He used the United States as an example of what could happen.
They have taken over the United States, the United States government, and the European Union,” he declared. “Nobody has been able to stop them so far. I’m hoping Uganda can.” One Ugandan legislator said afterward, confirming the impact of Lively’s visit, “We must exterminate homosexuals before they exterminate society.”
Timeline of the case against Lively
In the case timeline shown above mouse over the date December 5,2013. This shows that the Federal 1st Circuit Court of Appeals denied Scott Lively’s petition for a writ of mandamus which he filed to have the District Court forced to vacate it’s order denying Lively’s motion to dismiss.
Essentially this means that the case against Scott Lively can proceed.
I sure hope this POS is tried and convicted for his crimes!
